Delhi to Jaipur - Pink City
Jaipur city popularly known as "Pink City" due to dominant color of scheme of its buildings , city has rich craft and architectural design. Jaipur is very much popular tourist destination in Rajasthan and it is located from Delhi around 285 KM.
To Jaipur, I've many sentiments attached with this place which will always have a corner in my heart forever. Thank You Jaipur !!!.
So It was 28th day of October, 2017, I decided to take a road trip to Jaipur. I planned to leave early (5 AM) in the morning to avoid traffic of Delhi. Finally in the morning it was 5:30 AM, I was ready to leave Delhi. It was quite dark , foggy and chilly morning of winters so I took jacket, gloves , head scarf and helmet and after being ready with all accessories its time to start my ride at 5:45 AM.
I started from Chhattarpur, New Delhi, after riding towards Gurugram around 10 KM, near Guru Dronacharya Metro station, I stopped at petrol pump to fill the fuel tank. Then I started riding towards Jaipur from there.
It was quite surprising to see Gurugram without any traffic and it was amazingly beautiful, just like some places in foreign countries.
I've to catch NH-48 to reach Jaipur from Gurugram. Some time later by passing through Gurugram I was on NH-48 and time was around 6:30 AM. Fortunately I've got chance to see beautiful sunrise from the highway. I never want to miss such beautiful scenes, which can only be captured in the sunrise when sun starts glowing with red color in itself. To capture some clicks I've stopped on the highway and captured some landscape views of Sun and land there.
After 10 to 15 mins stop, I started riding again and now it was time to ride quite more distance if I wanted to reach Jaipur on time. Now by riding around 100 KM more, I started feeling hungry so I decided to have breakfast somewhere on highway in Dhabas. And finally I've found one and I stopped there for breakfast. As it was quite cold and I was shivering from cold winds while riding , so ordered tea without any second thought in mind.
To eat something, I decided to eat Aloo paranthas which was quite delicious in taste. I spent around an hour for eating , resting and warming myself. Now Weather have changed already and it was quite sunny as Sun already risen up (Time 9:30 AM).
I started journey again towards Jaipur after having much needed breakfast and rest. Road condition was good on highway, you can speed up around 100 KM/H comfortably and above that as well.
Driving slowly and cautiously is much better than driving fast. ( Drive slow and be safe.)
Jaipur was 170 KM left from this place. So its time to drive a bit more and fast as well to reach within time as Jaipur is Hot place. Its better to reach earlier than afternoon.
On the highway, there were small mountains(Aravali Ranges) on both side, which will definitely give you more scenic views of road trip. It was amazing feeling to be on that road with bike.
Finally around 12 noon, I reached inside place of forts. Just after entering in the Jaipur I was fined with 200 Rs Challan for pillion rider not wearing helmet. So its mandatory in Jaipur to have helmet for both person on bike and traffic rules are very strict here. In every crossroads there will be traffic police to monitor you very tightly.
As we had not booked in hotel to stay, now was the time to find some good hotel and rest for a while because it was too hot in afternoon. After looking into many hotels, I decided to book hotel through OYO Rooms, search some hotel near by, as I was already there so its better to have a look before booking unfortunately nothing worked out yet.
Finally we decided to book hotel in some famous franchises, Ginger Hotel chain, searched for contact number from google and successfully booked room in quite few minutes. It costs around 2700 Rs per day which was worth of money as well. Hotel conditions, room service and view of Jaipur from the hotel were awesome. I would surely recommend this hotel but for couple better if you could something more better otherwise its also fine.
Now it was time to capture memories for Jaipur, searched from google for places to visit in Jaipur, there were many of them but we have limited time as well.
Some of places I've visited in Jaipur-
Hawa Mahal ( Palace of wind ) -
Entry fees : 50 /- (Indians) , 200 Rs ( approx 2.85 $ ) per person ( Foreigners ) and timing would be 9:30 AM to 5 PM
Best time would be in morning, it would take around 1 hr to visit architecture and design, worth to have a visit at least
Jal Mahal :
No Entry fees, nearly located from Hawa Mahal, I didn't like much this place.
Amber Palace - Also known as Amer Fort
around 12 KM from Jaipur city
Jaigarh Fort :
Quite beautiful fort, must visit once at least
Albert Hall Museum :
150 per person for Foreign and 20 for Indian Tourists, This place is beautiful, it has
1- Arms and armor
2- Pottery
3- Metal Art
4- Sculptures
5- Ancient Egyptian mummy which in main attraction
If you are a shopping enthusiast than there are also many places for you as well. There is a Mall World Trade Park which is quite beautifully build and looks beautiful from inside too. Pizza Hut, and many other food options are available as it has a food court too.
I was there for Saturday and Sunday and visited all those above places in Jaipur. In the Sunday evening it was time to come back for Delhi. Around 4 PM we left Jaipur and reached Delhi around 9:30 PM.
There were lot of memories that Jaipur gives me.It will always have corner in my heart forever. There were some sad moments as well for me in there but those I'm not going to write here.
In the last but not least, I will always gonna miss you Jaipur and hoping to see you again soon sometime.
It was the ambivalent feeling with Jaipur journey for me, but it will always be memorable.
Thank you Jaipur and Jaipurites !!! Love you All !!! See you Soon !!!
