Journey to Queen of Mountains ( Mussoorie )

I have been waiting for a long time to have a trip for Mussoorie. Now the time has been come and packed my bag to move on my new trip.

Firstly, I booked my ticket from RED BUS. You can also purchase ticket from Red bus or anywhere; you may even get some discount if you search google for some discount coupons will get discount as for your convenience.

Now I have followed these steps -

I am residing in Noida so I've booked ticket from Kashmiri Gate (also called ISBT ) to Dehradun ( Price maybe varied, I booked it for 478 Rs and got 87 Rs discount Bus Timing 9 PM . Also you can prefer public convenience Transport bus, fix price 464 Rs)

Noida to ISBT (Kashmiri Gate)

If you have planned the trip from Noida then you can also follow. These aren't hard and fasten way, you can select any route you want as per your convenience.

First I've preferred public convenience(Delhi Metro), my boarding time was 9 PM. If you live in NCR you must be aware of traffic as well; It's so annoying !! So its always better to take Metro in spite of being stuck in Delhi traffic and being frustrated.

There are two ways to reach Kashmiri Gate via Metro -

1 - Noida to Rajeev chowk Metro (Blue Line) and than change from for Yellow Line which will be in underground and which will have 5^th station is kashmiri gate.

Rajeev Chowk(yellow) -> New Delhi -> Chawri Bazar -> Chandni Chowk -> Kashmiri Gate(red)

2- Noida city center to Mandi House and than catch violet line metro for kashmiri Gate

Mandi House(violet line) -> ITO -> Delhi Gate -> Jama Masjid -> Lal Quila -> Kashmiri Gate

from Mandi House you will get Kashmiri Gate Metro from Platform No. 4

I prefer second one. It took 45 min within 50Rs. After reaching Kashmiri Gate exit from Gate No. 7 for ISBT Bus Terminal

Kashmiri Gate to Dehradun (270 KM Journey )- ISBT platform No. 11 for Dehradun

As I mentioned, boarding time was 9 PM but as soon as I reached there I asked to my wing of plane what time it would move ahead towards to destination. He politely told me that 9:30 It will start journey. Thanks to metro; due to, I was there at right time. Often, It would not be happened that mentioned time differ from actual time. So avoid these kind of conflicts of timing. Try to reach early as possible with the given time. Sometime time frame doesn't change.

My Journey has begun onward 9:25 PM, I was so excited whole night I was awakened. I reached Muzaffarnagar at 1:00 AM then crossed Roorkee at 2:00 AM as expected which was told by conductor. I was at Dehradun Bus Stand around 4:00 AM in morning. I took deep breath almost covered my Journey towards the queen of mountains. I was so happy which feeling can not be expressed in words here. Amazing Feeling !!!

There would be a half hour halt of Bus in between somewhere, where you can have nice quality TEA at 30 rs/- and some good quality dinner as well.

Dehradun to Mussorie ( 40KM)

Early morning, I reached ISBT Dehradun at 4:00 AM. Now next step was to get information to begin my journey to Mussoorie. So I asked some random person that how to reach Mussoorie. He told me "You have to go first Ghantaghar/ Railway Station and get bus from there for Mussoorie"

For your information to reach Ghantghar you have to take auto Rickshaw sharing or personal, both options available there. Charges are quite high for personal auto around 300 Rs, except sharing auto would just cost 20 Rs/- to reach Ghantghar. When auto will drop you, than it would take 200-300 steps towards Bus Stop for mussoorie. Oftenly, for every 30-40 Mins you will get bus towards Mussoorie which starts from morning 5 AM to 7 PM in evening.

I took bus at 6 a.m. Now, real journey has been begun. A phenomenal view was being come forth and that remarkable memory would be everlasting for a long while. I reached mussoorie at 7:15 a.m at "Picture Place Bus Stop". It was severe cold and gusty wind flew so roughly. I was shivering, somehow to manage and have a tea that made me so comfort full and Enjoyed to see such a beautiful landscapes from Top of the Mussoorie.

I have already booked room through MakeMyTrip, As I'm from Alia's Fan Club so chose that one. I preferred to take hotel near Mall road. The Cost of hotel room was 1200 Rs per day and check-in time was 12 PM and check-out would be 10 AM.

To avoid deteriorate situation, you need to confirm check-in and check-out time before booking of rooms.

Hotel check-in time was 12 PM but we've reached around 7 AM so I've enquired to the hotel, I asked him over phone, “Can I check-in before in hotel ? So, He told, “you have to pay extra 200 rs then I said. “Ok”. I wanted to check-in as early as possible due to the severe cold outside. So, I said, “ok Boss! Let me know where is your Hotel. He told to me that take private Cab to reach the hotel. Cost was increased as per my expectation (200+400). So I decided to quit. And searched for another hotel near the “Picture Bus Stand” location, so after here and there looking, I finally got a decent hotel with decent price 800 INR for a day, Now the time was Bye Bye Alia and MMT, cancelled the hotel and they have refunded 100% Thanks to MMT for their services !!!

Mussoorie - First Day

After doing all the formalities for hotel ( like giving ID card, payment ) , we went to the room, quality was good but some problem was there in the room, no Hasp (Kundi) was there in wash rooms, towels was not clean so we've asked them to change them. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful seems like good person.

So finally we've settled in room and took some rest and then near around 10 AM, we've left the hotel to sightseeing and capture the soul of Mussoorie into my heart forever.

First I've decided to take bike on rent to enjoy the Mussoorie, so I've searched bike dealers in Mussoorie and luckily it was in walking distance from the hotel. After calling that guy, he had shown three bikes available for rent

1- TVS Apache

2- Royal Enfield classic

3- Avenger 220

rent price was 1500/- day, after some bargaining I've succeeded to get discount of 200 rs, So I've checked bikes to take ride first and unluckily none of the bike started because of cold weather. Now to visit I've to look another options available in Mussoorie.

There are tour packages avialable to visit places in Mussoorie which can be bought easily from the “Picture bus stand” which costs differently as the package you select. Minimum package cost was 2000 Rs. I've chosen package of 2500 Rs which includes 4 places to visit

1- Lal Tibba (Highest point of Mussorie)

2- Kempty Fall ( Fountains) best place to visit - No tickets or charges to visit there, you may have need to take bathing cloths on rent if you plan to visit inside Kempty Fall

3- Santra Devi temple

4- Buddha Temple

Visiting all those place we've came back to the place around 4 PM and then we moved to hotel and ordered tea and pakoris inside the hotel which was tasty and delicious. And after we've moved out from the hotel to visit Mall Road in the evening but it was not much beautiful Mall as other places Mall road are – like in shimla, nainital and Manali.

After visiting Mall road and having dinner from outside we came back in hotel, and one beautiful day got ends this way........

Total Expenses till First Day -

50/- Metro + 478/- Bus To Dehradun + 60 /- Bus To Mussoorie + 800 /- Hotel + 100 /- Breakfast + 2500 /- Taxi Booking for travel
