Trip to Nainital from Delhi - Place famous for spectacular Lakes
Nainital is a popular hill station situated in state of Uttarakhand, at 6837 ft above sea level. Its a famous weekend gateways from Delhi which can be covered in just two days.
On the Friday, In afternoon we decided to have a road trip, and all of us agreed as well. Now it's time to decide the place where we can go for weekend and enjoy our weekend. There were lot of choices as Delhi is center place to visit North, so after lot of discussion we finally decided to visit 'Nainital' which is around 300 KM far away from Delhi.
We've decided to leave Delhi in early morning (6 AM) , so that we can skip the Delhi traffic and ride quite smooth.
We started with three bikes and 5 people, after waiting all of us and collecting at a place ( ABES College, Ghaziabad ) and finally at 8 AM, time came to start our journey.
We've followed the following route to reach Nainital-
Noida -> Hapur -> Moradabad -> Rampur -> Haldwani -> Kaladhungi -> Nainital
1- Noida -> Hapur : 53 KM
2- Hapur -> Moradabad : 104 KM
3- Moradabad -> Rampur : 30 KM
4- Rampur -> Haldwani :78 KM
5- Haldwani -> Nainital : 41 KM
We've stopped somewhere between Hapur and Moradabad and have our breakfast- Lassi , Paranthas.
For lunch, we've stopped at Moradabad and enjoyed the famous "Moradabadi Biryani", It tastes delicious as well.
Nainital :
Finally around 4 PM we've reached to Mall Road in Nainital and unfortunately vehicle entry was banned till 6 PM. We parked our bikes in Mall Road and now its time to search the hotel to stay.
After looking into many hotels and spends around two hours, finally got a reasonable price hotel with descent conditions. (Costs 800 Rs per Night)
We decided to go to top places in Nainital at night. So after having some rest and took dinner at "Chandni Chowk" restaurants. I will definitely recommend this restaurant, food quality good and it is amazingly decorated, which will give you the exact same look as Its located in Old Delhi.
After we started riding to somewhere to the top of Nainital. while riding to top we've faced some unseen creatures(eyes were shining, having long spines on their back) there which I never seen before in my life, we all got surprised and feared as well, All of sudden we stopped our bikes and these creatures were looking to us and we were looking to them I believe both were afraid of each other But we were actually So we turn our bikes back below to that place. !!
Encountered Thrill at night.
while returning back to the hotel, we stopped near the lake and sat down on the benches near lake. Weather was quite pleasant, and giving the feeling to enjoy lake view for a very long.
Meanwhile A quite high speed car came and hit the puppy on the road. Car went away after hitting the puppy. Puppy started barking with pain in voice and here comes the thrill, all of sudden there was around 30 dogs barking at that place and we were the only persons sitting near them. We all were feared and at the time we have no idea what to do in such cases, if we ran from that places, definitely dogs gonna bite us and imaging of 30 dogs. We decided to sat there for a while just like statues. Whenever any car was passing through all dogs starts running towards the car to catch. While any bike or cycle was not followed by dogs. Our bikes were very much near to them so we can't just pick bike and go away. Also there was no other way to go around because of lake in front view.
After spending around 20 mins like statues, one of us took stand and slowly slowly move towards our bikes and took one by one all bikes and park them to far from the dogs. Then only all of us one by one moved from here towards the bikes. And finally we picked another route to reach hotel because of fear of dogs.
We reached to the hotel around 1 AM, hotel was locked by the guards, after some arguments with guard he finally open the gates and we rested out to the room and got some sleep.
Early Morning :
As usual I never miss beautiful morning views in the mountains but this time I was a bit late to catch those beautiful, mesmerizing scenic beauty to my soul. After wake up in morning around 8 AM me and one of my friend decides to go out somewhere to view nature as it was beautiful view from the hotel as well and mountains were keep inviting us to catch their beauty.
So we pick our bike and on our engines, and started riding in the lap of mountains in the beautiful morning. We asked for the place called "Himalayan Point" from the locals, and after that around 20 to 25 mins we reached there.
After reaching there you can view many places with the help of binoculars there, for which they will charge around 50 rs per person. As we were not much interested to waste that much of money for one person, so we had deal with giving 50 Rs for both person and took some photographs on our phones as well. some places includes - Trishul Parvat, Naina Devi temple, Some villages
After spending around an hour on that beautiful place, we came back to the hotel. All of other ones were sleeping at the time, so we thought to let them sleep and lock the room from outside.
Once we get back to hotel, all of them were awaken and that time we hear many of "beautiful words" from all of them as we expected though to lock them from outside and enjoying the views alone. :-P
Its time to get dress up and be ready for next destination in Nainital, so after getting ready we decided to take breakfast in between somewhere on the way as were quite late for travel.
After checkout from the hotel, we headed to visit Lakes in Nainital. On the way to Naukuchital we had our breakfast - Aloo paranthas, Pakoris and tea. In the under open sky, rounded table and cold wind blowing around us, this kind of surrounding was much needed by our souls.
Naukuchital :
Than after having breakfast we started travelling and finally reached to Naukuchital and enjoyed there for a while. Then all of us decided to make some adventure with Paragliding, We've asked for the price of Paragliding, that guy told us 1500 Rs per person. Thanks to one us who made lot of bargain with guy to provide that deal to us with only 800 Rs per person, only on a condition not to tell anyone there, which we obviously agreed.
They've provided us a form to fill up the all details and medical conditions that you are medically fit to do paragliding and if something happens than they won't be responsible for that accidents. we all fill that form and sign up for the great adventure coming through.
It was my first time for paragliding, so I was quite nervous and excited as well as it was also one of thing that resides in my bucket list of life which would soon going to be checked forever.
"There was a Uncle who was so excited till his number called, all of sudden when his number being called he started saying not to do that because of fear and nervousness that also gave me some fear as well. But all others included me started cheering him up for Yes and after two or three mins, he agreed and flew into the sky."
Not its the time for me to break that nervous feeling inside me and I was ready to flew and check one more list item in my bucket list in more few seconds.
Once I flew into the sky, I can felt myself as free bird. " If you feel fear from above, my suggestion would be to start chat with the guy about anything that comforts you more, which leads you to overcome your fear and enjoy more the adventure of life."
Bhimtal :
After enjoying in Naukuchital we reached to Bhimtal which is quite big lake and beautiful too. Here we've taken boat rides into the lake for an hour. It was also very much interesting and memorable ride into the water.
Boat riding cost us 200 per boat for an hour. we spent around total 2 hours and took lunch near to that lake as we were quite hungry. We've decided to take proper lunch - Rice, Daal, Sabji and Roti and luckily taste of the food were similar to home food so we ate with too much interest and more than hunger too.
Than now Its time to say Thanks to Nainital for filling our heart with lovely scenic views and giving us memorable trip forever.

Riding from Nainital around 4:30 P.M. we've reached around 9 P.M. in Rampur (memorable place for me ) and after riding some more KMs to Delhi, we stopped for a Tea break and got some rest there and then started riding again. It felt proud when someone asked about our journey by bike, looks on those person made you feel alive and your journey lively.
After getting stuck in traffic in near by Hapur, Traffic and Pollution would definitely reminds you that we're about to reach Delhi. And yes its true We've reached Delhi around 4 AM in the morning.
Welcome to the Capital of India !!!
