Journey to Queen of Mountains ( Mussoorie ) - Second Day
Second Day in lap of Queen of Mountains:-
In the earlier night, I had plan to wake up early in the morning to see sunrise view from the mountains. As Its most difficult task to wake up early in morning for me, so I have set many alarms in my iPhone ( 05:00 AM, 05:15 AM, 06:00 AM and even more... haha).
Finally, I woke up around 05:15 AM and went out to capture some beautiful scenic views of nature in my soul forever.
It was cloudy weather in morning, so unluckily didn't get chance to see sunrise in Mussoorie. Somebody says, "The beauty of Mountains will never be fade that's why we call it Queen of Mountains whether Gushed of icy wind has been flown, temperature has been nose-dive that day, It felt like 2°C in that morning but the only internal fire held me to be there. That was the equanimity love between me and Queen.
After enjoying morning views from the top, we've ordered breakfast from the hotel itself. In breakfast we decided to take "Aloo Paranthas" and I'm keen lover of Tea, so ordered tea as well. Quality's of paratha was good, worth it as per cost ( 30 ₹ per Parantha) and we had more parathas.
After having breakfast, we've packed bags and checkout from the hotel, after clears out all the bills.
It was total 600 ₹ bill ( two peoples dinner + breakfast + 2 times tea + evening snacks).
You can drop your luggage into hotel and sightseeing other places.Mostly, all hotels will provide these facilities in Mussoorie.
Now It was time to pick our ride for capturing the mesmerizing beauty of Mussoorie in our heart (❤)
Now, It’s time to take our ride with us. So we went to rent a bike for further journey in the queen of mountains. I took a bike on rent from “Library Chowk” with price 1500 ₹ per day and bike was new TVS apache with good conditions.
To rent bike, you need to have a government ID and a valid Driving License which was checked by the guy gave us bike.
Now it’s time to start bike journey to Dhanaulti, place which is famous for snowfall and beautiful snow views in the mountains.
Dhanaulti is 34 KM far away from Mussoorie and we have started around 11:30 AM in morning. For your information Google Map will not gonna help you much and so you might need help of locals on the way to get proper direction.
After riding 1:30 hours with some stoppage for tea and rest, we have reached around 1:00 PM in Dhanaulti. So my journey was successful as I presumed, there were lot of snow on the road and in the sides of mountains. It was most beautiful view for Mussoorie, yet. Although all my journey was good but it was something-else feeling.
When we reached Dhanaulti, I've asked policeman there for places to visit for snow, he suggested to travel for more 7 KM to place called "Kaddukhal", according to him this place always have much more snow than Dhanaulti. So we ride more 7 KM and this place definitely had much more snow and scenic views than Dhanaulti.
Must visit place("Kaddukhal") for bike rider and snow lover. If you have taken travel package from the Mussoorie, than this place would not be covered.
I would suggest to visit Dhanaulti by taking bike or self ride, avoid tour packages for this place.
So after spending two memorable hours and capturing some beautiful clicks its time to come back from there to Mussoorie. As we geared up, the weather has been astonishingly changed and foggy, clouds were all around us, visibility gone 30-40 Meter only, thank GOD I had gloves which saves me in this situation. Temperature was rapidly decreasing, so we had to take stoppage,to warm ourself, so we stopped in tea shop where he had set aflame for himself in this breath taking winter and we ordered tea, and spend around half hour there. After that finally around 3:00 PM came back to Mussoorie, than return bike and collected my government ID from the guy which was submitted at time of renting bike.
Now, Its time to go back home(Delhi), took ticket for Dehradun from Mussoorie 60 ₹ Bus left from there 4:00 PM and reached Dehradun at 05:30 PM at Mussoorie Bus stop. Delhi Bus could only be find from Dehradun ISBT, so from the bus stop you will get Blue Color auto Number 5 for ISBT, which will cost 20 ₹ to reach there.( and there is also a switch to ask driver to stop except ...).
The timing of my Bus was at 09:30 PM. So, we had some inactive time, to utilize that time we went Mall near ISBT, where you can watch movie or shopping as well. At 09:30 Bus started from Dehradun and we reached Delhi in morning 05:00 AM.
In Dehradun bus stop you'll get most of the facilities like - ATM service, Dinner, Tea
I would recommend to take bike from Dehradun except in renting Mussoorie.
If you have any question or any suggestion, leave comments below I will reply promptly.
